Plus: CR3 Lite Jumper Settings

T-X has shared more pics of the upcoming CR3 Lite, and have also released the default Jumper Settings for it.

As announced a few weeks ago, the CR3 Lite is coming and its already in production.

Now, Team-Xecuter has released a few new pics of the upcoming device and its package, alongside the default settings for the device Jumpers.

Here's the official info and pics released:

Quote:

The CR3 Lite comes with an adhesive foam pad and the positioning in pictures below. We changed the security sticker as so many cheap knock offs were ripping off our design. It fits nicely to the 360 faceplate now if you wish

We also used a high quality 48Mhz crystal - once the cheap knock offs hit the market you can be sure they will use the cheap ones which will be very poor performance.

Here are the default settings for the LK Solder Jumpers. As past experience by thousands of users has shown, you should try different settings for your setup until you achieve the best performance. It always helps others to post your own personal results.

Phat (Non-Jasper)

The following CPU RESET CLEANER settings were taken from many users experiences and we compiled all the best settings into one easy board. If you want to read through some source material for these settings we suggest you goto this thread so you can see lots of feedback.

CPU RESET CLEANER (S2 DIP SWITCH)
To disable set 1 and 5 On and the rest OFF
You can use a mixture of 234 and 678. 1 and 5 must be set to OFF when using a combo.

(1) Bypass
(2) 1K ohm
(3) 2K ohm
(4) 3.3K ohm
(5) Bypass
(6) 470 pf
(7) 560 pf
(8) 680 pf

PLL_BYPASS CLEANER (S4 DIP SWITCH)

100nF has always proven great for Jaspers. I personally have success with 680pF. Others have reported their own better results with all the other values.

(1) N/A
(2) 680 pf
(3) 150 nf
(4) 100 nf (Default - Same as CAP solder Jumper on Rev C)
(5) 68 nf
(6) 47 nf

The wire install and setup is the same as the CoolRunner Rev C.

DemoN can now directly connect using the ribbon cable that is included with the DemoN (Programming and Enable/Disable feature)

ROL can be wired directly to one of the front LED's without any diode as its included on the CR3 as per this thread.

Corona - Update: If you are installing to a Corona the yellow wire in the slim pack is too short - use the yellow wire in the phat pack.

So, there you go. Stay tuned for it as it shouldn't take too long for this one to arrive.

PLUS: Cloud playlists and early pricing revealed

It looks like the upcoming Xbox Music pricing and features were revealed through Windows 8 and the XBOX Dashboard BETA...

Seems that some details for the upcoming Microsoft's XBOX Music service were leaked through the XBOX 360 Dashboard BETA and the Windows 8 Music app.

Apparently, some cloud-linked features will be included in the form of synchronized playlists, and the service will offer a free half-month trial alongside paid subscriptions.

Here are the leaked prices and some other details:

Quote:

Prices are currently set at £8.99 ($15) for a month, while £89.90 ($146) will offer a year's unlimited access to "millions" of tracks, to stream and download across Xbox, Windows, and Windows Phone.

The system's UI seems to borrow its looks from Windows' Metro tile-based style, with a very similar keyboard that appears to be navigable from your Xbox controller.
Take a look at the Xbox Music Pass leaked pics below!

* UPDATE:

US pricings were also leaked. From Engadget:

Quote:

It looks like the Zune successor will offer a longer 30-day free trial, alongside $10 per-month and $100 annual subscriptions. Surprise -- looks like Americans are getting a better deal.

The new Corona console was manufactererd in 08/2012.

A brand new Xbox 360 DVD drive revision has been discovered by T-X forum member 'nargaroth'.

He posted a pic of the new Lite-On 1532 DG-16D5S with a manufacturing date of June, 2012. The other image posted shows the Corona MOBO, apparently manufactured on 08/2012.

Quote:

This console contain a Liteon 16D5S drive with a new Firmware Version 1532, but the most important is that new chip on the nand spot. Seems to be a new eMMC version from samsung this time (the previous one was from phison and only on 4GB console).

We don’t know yet if the console was from a 4GB or 250GB pack (16MB or 4GBnand), we can also see some solder on the pins used to dump 4GB console’s nand but no info if the guy succeded to dump it … more info soon
Here is the picture of the new NAND also found:

Team-Xecuter warns about fake CR3 Lites

Already on sale in some shops...

T-X has issued an statement regarding fake chinese versions of the CoolRunner 3 Lite. Real version now includes a new security sticker.

The Team-Xecuter has issued a Warning Statement regarding some knock offs of the CR3 (CoolRunner 3) Lite being sold at some chinese shops.

So, that's why they've now included a new security sticker with two codes unique to every CR3 Lite, and it will also be included with every T-X product in the future.

Here's their full statement:

Quote:

As suspected the China knock off sweat shops have started to sell their CR3 Lite copies.

Imitation is flattering except we were prepared for these assholes this time.

First of all we used very very specific parts that made it work as good as it does, we changed the branding on some of these parts to make sure that the cloners would get it wrong. Naturally the knocks offs don't use these parts and the performance is either weak or none at all.

Added to that is the fact that there are a couple of major design faults that we won't go into - needless to say they make the copies total junk.

Because they are so bad I wouldn't normally care, however they try to copy everything right down to the hologram security sticker, and this includes our name and warranty which is not cool. If you want to copy our gear, go for it but use your own f***ing brand name.

So this time we have included a security sticker which gives you 2 codes. These codes are unique to every CR3 Lite (and will be included with every major TX product in future).

You will be able to check these codes on an online database and you will be told if your product is genuine or fake (details will be shown shortly - we wanted to make sure the cloners wasted as many funds as possible before we launched this)

If its fake you will receive no warranty and no support. We will also be showing the sellers of fake TX products and they will be blacklisted.

For the record, this is a hacking and modding scene - we get it. Using ideas and improving upon them is par for the course - but to outright blatantly copy a product is just bullshit and the only person that suffers in the end is the customer as they are duped into buying the real deal when all they are getting is crap.
So, there you go. You have been warned, and remember to be extra careful when buying one of these devices!!

- Added the ability to stablish a static IP to download from Xell instead or always looking for it
- Fixed Flash Player 11 download links
- Huge bugfix in the SplashScreen Flash Player 11 Prompt... should no longer eat up memory!
Very sorry about this I didn't have a closer look at it and it seemed that if you didn't have Flash
Player 11 installed it will prompt you to download it, but I didn't add the stop asking and it would simply
ask, ask, ask... without stopping, could only be stopped by Task Manager.
- Various bugfixes

v2.0.12.272

- Once more corrected bugs on Xell NAND downloading cause by the change of the webClient, should be fixed fully!
- Fixed other bugs on badblock handling like dumplicated block ids in list and XBR2FreeBoot proper support
- Limited Copy to USB after creating FreeBoot images to all consoles except for Corona4G since it's not supported yet

v2.0.12.271

- Bugfix that shows false positives badblocks on RGH2.0 images
- Nuew method to identify badblocks that avoid encountering issues like this bugfix
- Changed NAND size read/write for JasperBB NANDs from 66MB to 64MB via code, due to the
fact that performing -r/w64 dumps 66MB and when you specify -r/w66 you obtain a 68MB file
which is not compatible with other tools like 360 FlashTool
- Minor bugfixes

v2.0.12.270

- Fixed a bug in the CPU Key retrieval via Xell
- Added Splash Screen which focuses on verifying that you have FlashPlayer 11 installed,
if not found installed it will allow you to download and install
- This update package comes with xebuild.exe 1.04.535 to make sure it install fine when
updating.
- Fixed the updater... No idea why but it happened, it should be fixed now

- Video Tutorials function is now available with diferent choices to search for
- Video tutorials limited to Internet Conection active ( no internet, no work )

press the button to look for an update, if there is one, it will let you know.

- Cpukey retreival:
I’m working on getting this to work, it’s not present in the current source code, but i’ve got a few things to work with that will hopefully make this possible aswell, it might not work with all dashboard versions etc. but atleast the current ones ;) it’s probably going to take a while before you see this feature, but have no fear, it’ll come eventually ;)

* Changelog *

v1.2
- Added: Full support for Corona v2 (4GB Corona)
- Added: Auto Detect which mode to run in (it’ll autodetect if you are running on a MMC type of machine or a RAW type [MMC type = Corona 4GB/V2, RAW = any other older machine])
- Added: Safe-Flash (Read to recovery.bin then write)
- Added: Autoshutdown after flash (it’ll tell you it’s shutting down then count down starting at 5 seconds…)
- Added: It’ll turn off your wireless controllers during flash to keep you safe (if you reconnect them they’ll be shut off again while it’s working)
- Fixed: If you accidently hit eject the app now stays running! :D
- Fixed: You no longer see the options to write if you don’t have a updflash.bin next to the app…
- Fixed: Lot’s of code cleanup, making it look nicer and easier to follow/understand :)
- Added: It’ll now also check for Spare data before writing, again it’s a safety measure, if it finds spare data while in MMC mode it’ll warn you about it and give you the option to exit… and of course the other way around for raw mode…
- Added: The above check for spare also checks for the « Magic bytes » (your Xbox 360 image should start with 0xFF4F, i’ve never seen an image that differ from this, and thus it’s an easy way for me to check that the file you give the app really is a nand…)
- Fixed: The app will now clear the line of output before it starts overwriting, this means that you’ll no longer see leftover output on screen from previous output ;) (mostly for error messages during progress output)
- Changed: The app now use a different font (it used Arial before, now it uses verdana)

** WARNING!! If you don’t let the app exit after flashing a corona v2 you will most likely end up with a machine that no longer boots untill you reflash it using a computer!! You’ve been warned… **
** Altought this version adds multipile security checks before it starts writing an image to your nand it can still be very dangerous… if you don’t know what you are doing, don’t do it! ;) **

Corona and 16197 kernel support!

The final version of xeBuild 1.05 has been released, along an update for its official GUI by Swizzy.
You should expect full support for the latest 2.0.16197.0 Dashboard.

The Xebuild team has released an update to their famous NAND builder. After being in BETA, the 'final version' of xeBuild 1.05 has been released, adding full support for Corona and of course, for the just released 16197 dashboard.

Here's the full changelog:

Quote:

1.05
- tidy ini_creator output a little
- colons were not being removed from macid string in ini file, fixed
- added corona4g build target and dump parsing, nanddump.bin should be minimum 0×3000000 bytes from corona mmc machines (no spare data)
- Xstress.settings will now be kept along with other mobile data
- added flash header sanity checks
- adjust dump loader to allow for 64bit file sizes
- build process will no longer complete a retail image if smc is patched or a jtag image if smc is unpatched. Apparently a big fat error warning isn’t enough.
- added some older retail.ini, added new switch to allow selecting specific bl configs (if making images with patches, the switch is appended to patch names as well)
- add 16197
Additionally, Swizzy has also updated the official GUI for XeBuild. v2.085 brings support for xeBuild 1.05, DashLaunch 3.03 and the 16197 kernel.

Virtual JaguarX v0.9 - '360 Edition' released!

Atari Jaguar emulator for the 360.

MagicSeb has released today a port of Virtual Jaguar for the XBOX 360, based on the Xbox 1 port from HCF.

As you may know, the homebrew Atari Jaguar emulator 'Virtual JaguarX' was released a few days ago for the original XBOX, and now, thanks to 'magicseb', the emulator has been ported to the XBOX 360, so all JTAG/RGH users can enjoy!

Here's the emu official info:

Quote:

WHAT IS THIS

Virtual JaguarX is an Atari Jaguar emulator for Xbox. It is a port of an old version of the Virtual Jaguar emulator (v1.0.5) with some improvements taken from later versions.

NOTE ABOUT 360 EDITION :

You will get the same problems as XBOX 1.
Saves -like Rayman- doesn’t work
It just a fast port in spare time, don’t expect anymore ;)
Many thanks to HCF for the source of his XBOX1 Port.

COMPATIBILITY

The sound emulation is disabled by default to make the emulation faster (although you can turn on the sound if you want).
With the sound disabled, you can play at full speed (or at least at playable speeed) to some games: Rayman, Flashback, Zool 2, Command and Conquer, Sensible Soccer International, and maybe a few more. I am not sure about Tempest 2000, it seems playable too.
There are other games that run at full speed too, but they occasionally hang: Double Dragon 5, or Raiden.
Other games can be played but they are slow, so you have to use Frameskip (usually Frameskip 1 or 2) to be able to play
them: Alien vs Predator, Pitfall, Atari Karts, Dragon, Bubsy in Fractured Furry Tails…
And finally, many other games don’t load at all

SOUND EMULATION

If you want to play with sound, you have two different choices:
* On the one hand, you can enable « real sound », but the emulator will run too slow if you don’t have a modified Xbox. So, if you choose to have « real sound », you must use Frameskip too.
* On the other hand, you can choose « overclocked sound » (you can choose to overclock the sound processor x2, x3 or even x4). Overclocked sound has very low quality, but its speed is higher.
Example: if you want to play Command and Conquer, you can do it in three ways:
1) You can play it at full speed without sound (no frameskip is needed)
2) You can choose « real sound », but you must use Frameskip 2
3) You can choose « overclocked sound x2″ or « overclocked sound x3″ and play the game at full speed without Frameskip.

Each game has its own optimal choice. In this example (Command and Conquer) the last option is good: overclocked sound is very bad as far as music is concerned, but it’s very good as far as SFX sounds is related. So, if you choose « overclocked sound » in Command and Conquer, you will listen at the begining a very ugly roar, then a very ugly title song… and after that, the gameplay is almost perfect, because all the SFX sounds (ARGH!, OUCH!, BANG! and so on) are played very well during the game.

RARE CASES:

There are some rare games that need a special configuration to run. For example, the game NBA JAM needs sound emulation to be played. In NBA JAM, I recommend using « overclocked sound » AND Frameskip 2 TOO, and you can play it at a decent speed. It is a very weird game…

IMPORTANT!!!!!

Roms MUST be placed in the /roms directory, as Virtual JaguarX v0.9 has a very limited GUI, but future releases of this emulator may use a different and wonderfull interface (thanks to the Surreal64 CE team!) so you will be able to put roms wherever you want. But this version must read the roms from the « /roms » folder. Lots of formats are valid, even zipped roms (if you have troubles with a zip, read the final part of this description). Furthermore: be sure that the « /roms » directory contains at least one rom, or the emulator will crash.

KEY MAPPING

As far as the key mapping is related, you know that the Jaguar has 3 standard buttons (A, B and C) and a numeric keypad. The standard buttons are the most used, and they are mapped in the Xbox buttons A, B and X. After that, we must decide which is the better way to map the numeric pad. At the moment I have mapped the buttons in this way: START = 0, Y = 1, Black = 2, White = 3, Left Trigger = 4, Right Trigger = 5, dPad UP = 6, dPad Right = 7, dPad Down = 8, dPad Left = 9. Anyways, feedback will be very well received, to discuss the best way to map all these buttons.

You can exit of the game pressing START+BACK simmultaneously. You can launch a very limited in-game menu pressing the right stick to change the frameskip. At the moment there are only two options that can be configured by the user:

* Frameskip: The default value is ZERO, because many games run at full speed (or at least at playable speed) without using frameskip. But if you play a game that runs slow, maybe increasing the frameskip can help a bit to make the game playable. Please, be warned that increasing the frameskip in the middle of the game is possible, but decreasing frameskip in the middle of the game can make it crash (you probably will have to re-launch the rom).

* Sound emulation: It is disabled by default because it makes all the games run slow, sometimes they crash, and the sound is choppy. But I have included the option to enable real sound (you will need frameskip, as it is slow!) or overclocked sound. Read above for sound emulation details.

THANKS

I want to say thanks to all the people that helped me in the port process: Neobomb, Hyper_Eye, Madmab, Freakdave, weinerschnitzel, XtecuterX73, the Surreal64 CE team, the creators of the original Virtual Jaguar emulator (nwagenaar, Caz, Adam Green, Aaron Giles, David Raingeard, Bernd Schmidt, Sam Lantinga, Ryan C. Gordon, Curt Vendel, Reboot, byuu, and mainly thanks to Shamus for his help!) and the creators of all the libraries for Xbox (like the SDL ones)…. Yes, I know that you are thinking « hey HCF, if so many people has worked in this emulator… so, what did you do? » ;)

Besides, big thanks to all the people that make possible the Xbox scene and the emuxtras project, Neobomb (again!), Wimpy, Waal, Perr, Mega Man… Thank you very much for your work!

The sources of the emulator are in the same package, so if anyone wants to see them and try to improve them, it will be very wellcome. You can contact me if you want to do it.

FAQ

Q: What about CD support?
A: At the moment it is not supported, sorry.

Q: My rom (in ZIP format) did not work!
A: There are lots of formats valid for this emulator (JAG, J64, BIN…) and it has been added the possibility to compress them in ZIP format, but this ZIP support is very basic: each ZIP file can only have ONE file inside. If you have a ZIP file which contains more than one file, it will probably not work. Besides, I have found roms in internet whose zip file was corrupt. So, my advice if you are having troubles with a compressed rom, is to uncompress it.

Thank you for reading this! :)
